Second chance at college for finance studies?
« on: June 04, 2018, 01:21:36 AM »
So I've got almost a year and a half to plan ahead here. Getting out of the Army after 8 years of service and with the GI/Post 9/11 bill on top of that to use. I want to go back to school for a master's degree, and my passion is finance. Im not sure where to go from that: I've been researching jobs out there and everything is interesting to say the least. I thought about going for a master's degree in finance or an MBA. I know finance advisor services get a horrible reputation on here, but if you were in my shoes what avenue would be best? Or is there another school pathway for another degree someone would do (like in the STEM or tradeskill realm)?

I would probably get a Meyers-Briggs test to see which careers best match my personality.  That said, I would design on paper my perfect retirement -- what would I be doing all day and where would I do it?  From that decision, work back to the present day and fill in all the steps from now to then: how much money, what skills, and so on
