Season Tickets

I'm a huge basketball fan. One of my reasons for FI is so that I can pursue coaching. I'm looking to relocate before then, however. One of the places I'm considering is North Carolina, and I would love to be able to see NBA games live. My thought is I can buy season tickets, sell enough of them to break even and go to the rest. Just a quick search of a seat for the Hornets games:

Season Ticket: $1780
Single game value: $69
Games sold to break even: 26
Games left to see: 16

And I could buy two pairs of tickets, sell one and use the other to even make a little money on the deal. Only thing that worries me is if I plan on this and then I have a hard time selling the tickets. I have leaguepass now and I see a lot empty chairs for some of the games.

Anyone do something like this?

I did a split season (Saturday and Sunday games only) of major league baseball. My thought was basically the same as yours, sell enough of the tickets to recoup the cost. I had a really hard time selling any of them that weren't prime games (Yankees, Red Sox). I did enjoy going to the games and the tickets were cheap. Every year I think about doing it again. I never do, though. Now I just pick a couple of games a year... it makes the experience a bit more memorable.

You need to remember that for every Hawks-Cavs game, there are Hawks-Knicks, Hawks-76ers, Hawks-Jazz games that are going to be VERY difficult to move.
