Retirement Savings vs. Years Spreadsheet in Excel?
« on: February 21, 2014, 10:05:34 AM »
Hello,

I was reading MMM's Post: http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2012/01/13/the-shockingly-simple-math-behind-early-retirement/
And he referenced a spreadsheet in open office format.

Does any have this in Excel format? or have on a google doc?

Thanks!

What exactly are you looking for the spreadsheet to do?  Just calculate your years to retirement based on savings rate?

I prefer networthify.com for that, or something like www.mustachecalc.com

(Well actually I prefer my own spreadsheets that are different than these traditional ones, but for beginners those sites are what I recommend).

But if you want that basic calculation in spreadsheet form:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Av7xbSQj85XWdDlVZHpUUEkxd2xraFI3ekc0VlVEM3c&hl=en_US#gid=0

If you're looking for something else, please clarify what you want the spreadsheet to do.  Hope that helps! :)
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
