Replacement oven suggestions
« on: August 27, 2020, 01:11:29 PM »
My 20+ year-old electric oven has called it quits and the replacement parts are no longer made.  What are reliable brands and what should I be looking for as I shop around?

Seriously - look at CL and FB-Marketplace.  Kitchen appliances are one area where like-new/great condition come up again and again at a fraction of the cost, because people are constantly doing kitchen renos.  I can't tell you how many times I've come across ovens that were never even switched on, but were taken out of a new home the moment the owners walked in. The other day I came across a 2018 Miele for 1/3rd new because "it didn't go with our new decor".

If you want reliability ratings, Consumer Reports keeps pretty decent repair history data on several dozen models.
