Dunno if this thread is still live, or how I got here... but this is sort of up my street, since I do my own massage oils. What I would do is experiment with a simple carrier oil -- starting with castor oil or sweet almond oil, because they're fairly cheap and kind to most people's skin -- and see if just the oil works for you. My guess is that pretty much any such vegetable oil will do the trick, and the rest is just pretty smells and sensations. You can mix in a drop or two camphor oil or eucalyptus oil for that, if you like, and it will make the oil feel "cool" and smell invigorating (or horrible, depending on how you respond to those things!) You can also play with other essential oils to get pretty smells if you like, though that can get spendy quick: it's hard to buy essential oils in small enough quantities to sample them economically.
Once you find what you like, you can buy the carrier oil by the 16 oz bottle, and a little bottle of the essential oil if you want it, and stick them in the fridge (they'll go bad after a couple months, otherwise). You can refill your little Shave Serum bottle thirty times with them, at about the same price as those pirates will charge you to fill it once. Plus I'd be happier knowing what the hell it is that I'm putting on my skin :-)
