I bought a Condor machete for my current job. It has a solid, heavy feel to it, the handle is wood, not plastic, and the blade is sharp, high quality steel.
But fuck machetes bro. You can get a brush axe for the same amount of money, and for clearing underbrush, thorns, stuff like that? It's sooo much better. Have you ever tried to chop down a tangle of thorns with a machete? The way I see it, brush axes do tough chopping jobs better than machetes, and for easy stuff, why not just use a hedge trimmer or something?
I got the Truper brush axe off Amazon. It's heavier than the other brush axes I've seen, with a larger blade. It has the 40" handle though, so you can stay out of the shit.
