Title: Know any Seattle-area financial advisors with mustaches?
Post by: Poeirenta on April 21, 2017, 10:20:13 AM
Some old friends came to visit us at the ranch this week and talk turned to retirement and financial planning. Interestingly, though the one friend is a financial oversight person for her job, her grasp on her own finances is fuzzy. She's been putting lots into retirement and college funds, but she feels like it's all over the place and she wants some guidance. I told her to stay away from Edward Jones, but I would like to send her some specific rec's of people in Seattle.

Anyone have recommendations I can pass along? Obviously, if they have a mustachian bent, so much the better!

I don't know anything about Financial advisors in Seattle, but if your friend brought this up to you and she does finances as her job why don't you invite her over for a fun lunch or dinner while you help her go over everything for free?  She is probably capable of doing it herself and we all know how much better the ROI is to DIY. If you two start climbing down the rabbit hole and you find exceedingly complicated investment situations then you at least know she actually needs a professional eye.

I did offer to take a look at what she's got going on. We'll see if she decides to do that. She's 5 hours away, though, so unfortunately the great dinner idea won't fly. A coworker of her DH got a free consult via the Seattle Times, so I think she's got her mind set on a professional.
