Reasonable or not?
« on: November 25, 2019, 06:35:10 PM »
Looking to get a cashflow analysis from a financial planner in prep for a separation and divorce. The planner (who has a divorce specific credential) says it'll take about 10 hours at 225 per hour. Does this seem reasonable? Don't want to screw up our child support / spousal support numbers (we're pretty much going to diy) but this seems like a big chunk to spend on this part.

What exactly are they going to do that you can't do? That will tell you if the price is reasonable, or if there's a better option.

Sounds reasonable.  But why can't  you do a cash flow analysis on your own?

Have you been working with this planner before, or is this a new engagement?  Given that they are essentially planning for two households, I would say that's reasonable for a new engagement.  (I paid $1,200 for an initial plan, which we did when our son was born)

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
