PEO Professional Practice Exam Advice?
« on: February 20, 2015, 09:11:09 PM »
For those in other areas (physical and professional) this is the exam an engineer has to pass in order to put 'P.Eng' in front of their name in Ontario, and is a requirement for people like me who want to become university professors.  Has anyone out there written this in the past?  What advice do you have?  I think I can get the textbooks through the library, which is great because they're super expensive.  Other than reading those, are there any other great resources out there?

Advice is greatly appreciated.

Not sure if it's the same as the US one?  I took the PE in Virginia a couple of decades ago.  It was an 8 hour exam.

I bought a book on how to study for it, and mostly used my college textbooks.

Chemical engineering though, and no, I've never used it.

Unfortunately this one is unique to Ontario.  I guess I'm just going to have to slog through the texts...

The BC and AB ones were not too difficult, mostly about codes of practice and ethics.  Take it seriously, read the study guide and 75% of the texts, and you will do fine. I was able to do this over a couple of weeks.   I did not find it difficult.  I assume this is not the specific struc.eng. or change of discipline test, but you are registering in you field you graduated from.
