My IPad has gone crazy
« on: April 28, 2014, 07:35:35 AM »
My IPad has started ignoring my commands, and moving the cursor on me.  Also it will sometimes start typing random letters, and constantly opening up the calendar app.  Usually if I turn it on and off it will work correctly for a small amount of time (10 minutes to a couple hours) before starting up again.
Suggestions?  Go to the apple store and see if they can fix it?

That's really odd.

Does it happen all the time, or just when plugged in?

Backup, wipe it, and test it?  If it works, restore and see if it's still working.

Otherwise yes, Apple Store, though if it's out of warranty they'll probably just tell you to buy a new one.

I'd try wiping it and reinstalling the latest version of iOS first.

Also there's a few Google hits for the issue.  Example: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5036980

Thanks for the suggestions and link. I tried rebooting it, will see if that works.

We had one at work start doing that.  Recycle and replace was the end result for us.  It's worth trying an Apple store though in case they can save it.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
