Mustachian ways to laminate items
« on: March 01, 2015, 03:22:38 PM »
When I work in the hospital I frequently carry around a small stack of laminated cards on a binder ring with hospital protocols/algorithms and other stuff I might need to look up as a quick reference. I call it my peripheral brain. I'm interested in creating my own specialty-specific cards and looking into my options for laminating. I want to make 4" x 6" sized cards that are sturdy (think of the laminated menus at restaurants as an example). Short of going to Staples or Office Depot, how can I do this on the cheap?

I'm not sure there is a more cost-effective way if you're not going to do enough to justify the purchase of a laminator? I went to Staples recently and had two letter sized documents laminated...about $4.

But you could always buy one of these:

Pretty cheap @ $30!

Didn't realize some of the home laminators were that cheap! The ones I found on Amazon were like double that price. Thanks for the tip!

Do you have Mardel? I think laminating is like a dollar a foot. And its maybe 2 feet wide? I'm sure you could get plenty of cards in for a couple of bucks.

Packing tape, both sides. Cut off the ragged edges.

Buy a roll of clear contact paper.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
