Mint.com operations question?
« on: February 03, 2016, 12:46:30 AM »
Is there a way to split costs for a transaction on Mint.com?

For instance, our Publix has a deal this week that allows you to get $10 off a $50 gas card if you buy $50 in groceries.  I don't want the whole $90 showing up as grocery costs in mint... but I will have to buy them all together to get it at the discount.

Yes, there is.

Go to the transactions page, then click on the one you're wanting to split and click the "edit transaction" tab. You should see a small button to the right side near the top of the dropdown section that looks like a capital Y - that is the split transaction button.

Is this on the mobile app?  I can see the Y on the browser but can't see to do anything with it.

Edit: NEVERMIND.  I'm trying to split pending transactions and that can't be done.

Thanks for the tip! I've been doing two transactions at Target to split groceries from toiletries/household. Not a big deal, but if I'm ever in a hurry or forget, this will be a lifesaver!

I wasn't able to split them on the Ap, but I do on the web page.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
