Job quandary
« on: May 14, 2014, 03:10:29 PM »
I have been searching for Jobs in Florida for Network Engineer or System Administrator. I have had no luck so far. I live in NH and I was looking to move to Florida, but I just received a job offer six figures and a yearly 15 percent bonus in the Boston area. What should I do??

So you'd prefer to live in Florida over Boston?

You haven't said what you currently make and if it's close to what you'd be making in Boston, so it's hard to give advice. You also haven't said how long you've been looking, or how aggressively.

From what you've written before, I assume you've been in your current job for only a few months, and you are already earning 6 figures. What are your plans? Why is Florida important - is it a dream or are there reasons you want to live there (often dreams crash when they become reality)?

I have lived in NH all my life and I looking to live in a warmer climate. I have family members down in Florida. I have been doing a job search for about a month.

I am close to 6 figures right now and I am thinking 6 figures might be a dream in Florida, but if I stay here and make a 6 figure salary I have to endure another winter.

Given what you said, I would keep looking in Florida if that's where you really want to be.
