Is this wealth tracker correct?
« on: September 24, 2013, 04:03:29 PM »
Hey there,

So I wanted to have a spreadsheet that would give some rough projections of a possible path to FI.  I tried to base it off of this post:

http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2013/06/09/getting-enough-and-then-some/

But, I wanted to add things like contribution increases, living expenses modified by inflation, safe withdraw rate, expenses on stash, etc.  Attached is my best shot.

What do you think, is this correct or am I missing something?

The big one is the logic for the $tash column, which I used:

(prev stash * market return) - expenses ) + new contributions

Looks correct to me.  At least, it gives the same results in the $tash column as the one downloadable here calculates for "Total projected stash" when the inputs are the same as yours.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
