Hello!
I ride my bike almost every day but the flat pedals that came with it are too small for my foot. I’m a size 12 wide.
I have a pair of SPD’s that I got used with shoes and they’re great but I prefer flats for around town errands.
The problem is that my foot doesn’t fit on the pedal and it has actually slipped off three times now.
I have been holding off on making this purchase to see if the want went away but it hasn’t yet.
Thinking about getting something like these:

Is this purchase justifiable? Do you know if they are “good” pedals?
Looking forward to hearing your feedback.
Thanks!

I ride close to 10,000 miles per year between a few different bikes and that's by far my favorite style of pedal. My personal choice is nylon (I think that's what they are) instead of metal though to minimize cold on the bottom of my feet. Mine run about $20.
I like being able to move my feet around but also have good grip on the nubby posts this time of year when I need my wet/icy boots to not slide off the pedal. I originally bought my first $20 pair to try out the style with plans to upgrade if I liked them, but they've been great for me so I just stuck with 'em.

They look good. I have some pedals that are ver similar and am super happy with.

I use these so I can wear flats without slipping off. I used to have strapped ones but prefer strapless.

Not sure how they would go with your big feet though.

Those pedals look good, I like the size of the pins...should be grippy. I ride MTB and use Chromag Scarab pedals. Easy to replace the pins when they wear down and provides for many/multiple pin patterns.

I think I'll go ahead and splurge on these!
I appreciate all of the responses.

I bought these for screwing around town. Platforms clip right into the clipless pedal and you don't have to keep swapping out pedals.

I pretty much only ride clipless pedals these days, but studded mountain bike pedals work really well if you want to cycle in normal footwear. I used them for years, and they work really well to keep your feet on the pedals (especially in rain). Try to get some with replaceable pins though, because they do kinda wear out and get less grippy (still better than regular flat pedals though) after a couple years.

Do you have a performance bike store in your area? They are going out of business and pedals, clips, and shoes (as well as everything else) is 50%++ off.
