Should I pay off my school loans?
« on: April 02, 2017, 07:45:37 PM »
I started saving late in life and finished my BA at 40 (had prior school loans already paid off). A couple of years ago I left a 12 year stint in hospital admin to take time off and used some of my retirement to support myself. Not the best decision, I know. I've since returned to hospital admin, built up my savings and emergency fund, paid off debt, and have enough to pay off my school loans. I'm approaching 49 and hope to do something different for a living (without occurring add'l debt).

Is there something else better to do with this money other than paying off my school loans?

Thank you for the reply, Bender. I went through the entire list (twice), never heard of a backdoor Roth so spent time understanding how this works (turns out, not right for me). All things point to paying off my school loans.

This was helpful.
