HSA with Health Savings Administrators - questions
« on: October 12, 2017, 07:58:07 AM »
One of our members here mentioned in a thread that they have an HSA with Health Savings Administrators, and in a follow-up message, said that Vanguard recommended this HSA because you can invest all HSA (no cash minimum), and invest in Vanguard funds: https://healthsavings.com/

I'm wondering if someone else who has an HSA with this company could answer a couple questions:

1) If using the funds for healthcare expenses, how easy it it to get reimbursed? Right now, I have an HSA via my employer and it's really easy to get funds out (just enter a dollar amount and expense type, and get the distribution), but my DH's HSA requires documentation of expenditures (receipts), so that's kind of annoying--do-able, but another step to scan that stuff vs. just tossing into a file.

2) Has anyone rolled over an old HSA to this place? DH has an old HSA that I'd love to get into investments.

I have an HSA with them, but unfortunately I haven't done either thing you're asking about.  I do invest in VTSAX through them.

They seem slightly out of date on the tech side of things on their site (and no Mint integration, etc.) so it's probably not too sophisticated overall but that's just a guess.

Ketchup, I'm wondering if you could pretend you want a distribution and take a screen shot or two for me? You could PM me and blur out numbers.

I just tried it and it actually looks pretty straightforward.

Hey, that's awesome! Yes, that looks easy, very similar to my other HSA that I like. I'll look into the rollover options. Thanks so much, ketchup!
