How should I word an email to HR about our 401K vendor?
« on: November 08, 2018, 07:30:20 AM »
I work at a nonprofit that has recently been talking more on focusing on "human capital."  AKA they are looking at our wages and benefits to see how they could be more competitive.

Of course I participate in the 401K and it is invested through American Funds.  I'm invested in the American funds 2045 Target Date Retirement R2 and that expense ratio is....1.53!!  Agh!

So I wanted I wanted to capitalize on this "human capital" investment talk and send an email asking our company to consider switching 401K options (vendors?).  the problem is, I really don't know how to word this and I don't know if that is realistic.  What are some better options a 50-70 person nonprofit could consider?

Thank you!

First, are there any funds available now with lower expense ratios?

WOW - I am in the exact same boat.

Work for a non-profit that uses American Funds. I looked through all the fund options. All have have high fees and expense ratios.
