Pawn shops are very unfortunate for the people who sell their belongings there, but can be a potential find for someone like you. Find out what kind of ring styles she likes, and take a look around any local pawn shops for similar rings. On the one hand, you can't be sure of the quality, but at the prices you'll be spending, you can always get it appraised. Talk to a jeweler about what to look for, before you go, if this is a concern. Honestly, though, I find the older rings can have a lot more character than brand new. I've found some really beautiful jewelry in pawn shops. Hopefully you can find something she'll like :)
