Hello Mustachians!
I am transferring my investments to Vanguard. As part of the process, I decided to open a joint account with my husband at Vanguard. At my old brokerage, I held these assets individually.
I got a Medallion signature to verify my signature at my local brick and mortar bank, no problem. But we need a Medallion signature for my husband too.
Which options will work for him?
Option 1: Waiting a month, and getting the signature at a brick and mortar bank that he still has an account with "back home", when we go visit his family for Christmas. (Are there any problems with waiting a month to complete the tranfer? Does it have to be done in a certain number of days?)
Option 2: We bank online with Ally. Does anyone know if they have a partnership with any entities that will provide this service?
Option 3: My husband has retirement accounts with Fidelity through his employer. Will a Fidelity investment center consider him a customer, and be willing to provide a Medallion signature? There are two locations within a few miles of us.
We started this transfer process in early November, and we really feel stuck on this. Any advice is much appreciated!
