I'd personally go for the cleaning, because your health and energy will be affected if you switch to unhealthy convenience foods. You need that energy to keep up your work schedule.

The deal with your parents might be the best of both worlds. I'd definitely be willing to pay someone to cook healthy stuff in bulk for the freezer.

This isn't a response to your question, but a philosophical question I've been pondering myself that your post brought into focus:  if your savings rate is 50%, why work the part time job?

My husband and I have full time jobs, no debt, and both of us choose to work part time during the week. He will be retiring in 2-3 years and we want to increase our cushion.

I recently outsourced window cleaning. She did a great job, but I can't see paying her close to what I'm making. Still...if I needed to outsource to help increase my income, I'd probably go for the parents as long as there wouldn't be any issues.  Kinda hard to fire them. On my days off, I cook 2-3 different meals with plenty left over to freeze. We alternate between those meals during the week. Neither one of us are particular about food, so it works for us. Could also throw in soup or a breakfast meal if you wanted too.

I can't recall the name of the company here, but my city has a "concierge service" that is personal shopper, errands, cleaning all in one.

Straightening up takes very little time. I'd vote for grocery delivery or a personal chef over cleaning.

check taskrabbit.com, search within your area and there's locals that you can pay to do your errands for you

I find laundry and food prep to be the most time consuming.  So my priorities would be hiring someone to clean and fold laundry, and perhaps a service like Dream Dinners.  If your parents are willing, paying them to clean, do laundry, and make freezer meals sounds like a win-win.

I've tried online grocery shopping in the past, and found it took about an hour regardless of whether I was typing the grocery list in or walking the aisles, so for me it wasn't a big time saver.  (Unless perhaps if you can do it while multitasking during a conference call...)

What do you hate doing the most and/or are bad at?  Personally I don't mind grocery shopping or cooking.  If I had to leave my house to do laundry, that would be a prime outsourcing candidate for me.  I hate cleaning BUT remember its one thing to have someone else clean, but another thing for someone else to pick up stuff and put it away.  Messy to hard to fix.

If you parents would like the arrangement and take the money then that seems a great solution.

+1
I don't mind grocery shopping and I love cooking, but
I just hate hate hate cleaning and ironing
I partially outsource this by having a cleaner every other week, the rest of the time I maintain myself

If you can help your parents financially and they could help you and it's a clear defined thing for a limited time,
that sounds like a win win to me!
Better than trusting a stranger, plus if you can help them in return even better
HOWEVER never underestimate the hidden currents in family affairs, so it must be clearly defined and well understood by both parties

You might also post something in the Mustachian Marketplace. There may be another Mustachian in your area looking to make some side hustle money.

I think you'd get a bigger bang for your buck (and energy output required) to hire a cleaning person. But then again, I'm totally biased because I like to cook but hate to clean. I find it completely draining to clean, but cooking is enjoyable. See what you dread the most and go that way.

Also, be sure that if you hire someone, you don't run afoul of the employee vs. independent contractor issue. I'm happy to elaborate if needed.
