Has anyone asked for a 'job sharing' arrangement?
« on: July 28, 2015, 10:24:00 PM »
I have the kind of job that no one really wants to quit, but the hours are high.  I average 56 hours per week over a year.  I'm considering approaching my employer to offer a 'job sharing' arrangement, wherein I basicly work 26 weeks per year, but the full 56 hours during each of those working weeks.  I'd prefer two weeks on, two weeks off; which would give me plenty of time to take trips in between work sessions.

Has anyone here tried this with their employers, and how did it go?

No, but I've spoken about it with my friends plenty. My sales pitch is 6 months on, 6 months off, each person get's half pay, and you won't even have to give either of us any leave so you score.

In the real world I think the oil guys and cruise line workers can get 1 month on 1 month off. I'd go for that too in a heartbeat.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
