We have only started to wade into these a bit lately, for home delivery. A few of our favorites near us--Indian, Japanese, and Italian--all do their own delivery, or they contract through Postmates, so we have always just dealt with the restaurant directly in those cases.
I just now tried to place an order for my dad for his birthday. He is in a long-term care/nursing home and I can't get over there (35 mi away) tomorrow. I found that DoorDash was the only one that had what I was looking for for him--a halfway-decent steak dinner and dessert. My first choice was a well-known steakhouse in the area, but it was not available on any app, so I went with Outback. It's not my first choice (and I eat this stuff rarely--no pun intended--myself), but at least it is pretty good. And, he is not very picky at this point in his life.
I found that GrubHub and Postmates had mostly fast-food type stuff--nothing much better than that.
What do you think of these services? Do you have a preference and why? I assume a 25% tip is sufficient?
Thanks.
UPDATE:
hmmmmm,
On the DoorDash order status page, it says "Outback Steakhouse · 8:44pm arrival"
But below that it says:
"Your order is scheduled for 2021-04-11 at 1:45pm"
A bit confusing!
