thanks for the input on your experiences with Overstock.com….
Though I don't need to defend anything to anyone, haven't decided to marry Overstock.com - it's just something that came up in my various searches. I've been finding a number of great deals on freecycle and craigslist but the bed hasn't proven to be so simple.
Also, I'm slightly wary of used furniture right now, having just had a bedbug scare (after staying in a hotel on the east coast, getting bitten, but thankfully not having brought them home) and have a friend whose neighbor had them (here in CA, after having an out of town relative move in with them, and the expensive treatment wasn't even successful…). Maybe that's deserving of facepunches, that I'd rather buy a new bed, and in that case, punch away if you feel so inclined.
Meanwhile, thanks to the folks who simply answered my question. After looking at the prices there, though (and what you get for the price), I'm thinking I need to learn some ana-white inspired woodworking skills… :-)
