I need to find a new job after too many years being comfortable (yet dissatisfied) at a company that lacks vision, consistency, and follow through. There is also no real HR process and no career path.

Anyone have wisdom to share about psyching yourself up for a job search when you're not yet hungry, but still hungry for change?

My two cents -- Respect your gut on this one.  If it is telling you it's time to move on, it is.  I was in this position a few years ago, where a very comfortable job had gotten stale and was going nowhere.  It was a bit scary to leave the known, but it worked out great for me.

If the desirable job pool is small in your current area, is moving an option? If so, you could cast your net much wider.   If you haven't already, read MMM's current blog post about confidence and then -- go for it.  Good luck!

Great advice -- and thank you!
