quick question...
my husband is normally paid 2 times a month, 15th and last day of the month.
I just checked our bank and his chq was deposited 11th..I was excepting 13th since 15th is a sunday???
That is 2 days early.
I cant ask him directly since he is out of country, is it due to the holidays,.
thanks for any insight.

I'm not sure what your question is, but I'm pretty sure you'll have your answer within 3 days.

I believe this happens sometimes with direct deposit (the bank receives the electronic information early and credits your account.) I would avoid spending the money until Friday, just in case it's an error.

hi for any confusion,
I was just wondering why the pay check was deposited early, wondering if any payroll people could help.
thanks.

It's probably due to the holidays. We don't really have enough information to say, but maybe the person doing the payment processing left for vacation on the 11th. Or maybe they hit the wrong button. Who knows? Does it matter?

Paychecks will come on the same day pretty consistently. Over the years, it's happened to me maybe 3-4 times that I've received them 1-2 days in advance or late. It can happen and it shouldn't be an issue. Wait until Friday (the real day you should have received the paycheck) to see if that's the case. If you don't receive anything on Friday, then it was the real paycheck, just two days in advance. If you receive another paycheck on Friday, then call HR or the bank to inform them about a possible error. It's illegal I believe to spend money that is not yours, even if it's in your account (because of a human or software error from the bank/employer)

One of the companies I worked at regularly made December and January pay days early.

I'm on direct deposit for my paycheck at a large company. I don't really check often, but I know I have seen several times it's been a day early, and two days early would not surprise me.
I'd say your paycheck was probably just two days early -- I'm not counting 14/15 because those are weekend days and most banks are closed on weekends, so I would expect it on the 13th.

My husband's paycheck is always direct deposited one day early. My own comes two days early. Christmas Day and New Years Day both fall on pay days this year, so it should be interesting to see when the paychecks hit. No biggie!

I believe mine should hit today. I'm paid monthly, so that's over two weeks early.

You should ask your payroll person. At my workplace there are no deposits on holidays so the money comes early instead. Yours might be different.
