Do some cars need timing belt at 90k miles?
« on: July 20, 2013, 01:09:17 PM »
Husband drives a Mercedes that has 90k, and the place where he gets it serviced recommends timing belt at this time. I had assumed 100k was universal. What do you think? I know a lot of you know a good deal about vehicle maintenance, so I figured I could ask you.

Oh, it's 10 years old, if that matters.

Every car is different. Mid-90s tended to be around 60k miles, now it seems most manufacturers recommend 90k miles. You can check your particular model either in the owner's manual or on a website such as mytimingbelt.com.

Oops. Mercedes keeps their owner's manuals online if you have misplaced yours, try there instead:

Good luck!
