credit karma
« on: October 26, 2014, 03:27:24 PM »
From reading one of MMM's recent posts I learned about credit karma and one other (cant recall name, lazy to loom it up this moment) free credit score monitoring company. FREE.
Have any of you guys used these or other such companies and if so, would you recommend it?
I have been paying $6 montly to creditscore and am beginning to feel silly for it.

I've been using Credit Karma. I was actually blogging about it like ten minutes ago if you want to see a partial screenshot: http://frugalparagon.com/2014/10/26/the-catch-22-of-credit-scores/

It's not an official score, but it should be helpful for tracking changes over time. I also pull one credit report every four months to keep an eye on things. You don't need a credit monitoring service!

Also:

Credit Sesame
Quizzle

All Discover, Capital One, Barclays credit cards. Probably a few more places, too.

I hope you're enjoying the blog! Drop me a comment sometime :-).

I was actually a little leery of it at first, too--how they could give away for free something (your credit score) that costs money, but research suggested it was legit and I think they make their money on credit card applications and so forth.
