Title: Converting savings bonds to electronic format
Post by: I'm a red panda on February 13, 2017, 01:49:58 PM
I have about 30 years of bonds and I need to convert them to electronic format.
I worry about paper, because paper can be destroyed.

But I also worry about this conversion because it requires putting them all in the mail!

Can someone tell me the safest way to do this? Is it certified mail?  Would you recommend mailing them in smaller batches to reduce the risk of them being lost, or am I being paranoid?

it won't let me delete the thread...

Sorry, a bit more googling lead me to the answer that these can be replaced if lost or stolen, so I don't need to worry about the mail at all.
