Chase Bonus
« on: May 25, 2017, 01:20:00 PM »
Theres a chase bonus going on right now for new customers. My silly question is that I am already a customer. is there a way to cancel my account and sign up again and get the bonus?

Nice! i did this about this time last year and the 300 in checking was basically free money.

I think you have a 90 day window from the time you close your account until you can sign up for any "New Customer" deals.

I could be wrong but I remember reading that in the fine print somewhere. Also make sure you've stayed for at least 6 months before you close your account or they will deduct the bonus from your balance while closing the account.

This is a near constant bonus (I've done it twice now). The fine print usually requires that it has been at least 90 days since you had an account with them, and I think you need to keep the account(s) open for 6 months, so you can do it once a year or so (a wee bit more if you were really on it with the opening/closing).

You can't do it more than once a year because the fine print says you can only collect one bonus on a personal checking account per year (same with personal savings and business checking)

You're right. It's once per calendar year.

Does anyone know if it can be done by phone or over the 'net? The link appears to be a hard copy coupon you print out and physically take to a branch. Normally not a problem, except the nearest branch is 2+ hours away.

My experience, and the language on the current offer lead me to believe it must be opened in branch. I think it can be closed over the phone, and I'll be testing that out this time around as we are moving and will no longer have a nearby branch.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
