Changed employers-rollover to new 401k or a ROTH?
« on: March 27, 2014, 11:10:21 AM »
In the past I would roll over to a new 401k but never really had a basis for doing so.

Should I roll it over into my new job's 401k, or move the funds into a ROTH?

I personally wouldn't roll it to a Roth, as I'd have to pay taxes on it now. I would take option C - roll or reclassify the old 401K to a traditional/rollover IRA so you can open up the allowable investments. If you have a great 401K currently, then rolling the old one into the new might be a good choice as well (if they allow that).
