My husband and I are mostly FI and older. We live in Saskatchewan, Canada. We have a 16 year old Mazda 5 that desperately needs a new motor. Our mechanic said the $3 K to replace the engine was not worth it. We have been looking at an automatic SUV. We have test drove a 2016 Honda Pilot with 93,750 miles/150,000 kilometers selling for with tax $33,000 Canadain. The other vehicle we test drove was a 2015 Toyota Hylander with 118,750 miles/190,000 kilometers selling with tax for $23,000 Canadian. We know this is a lot of money, but we have been doing a lot of research, and this is the cost of vehicles in Canada. Both cars are one owner and serviced by the local dealer -Honda/Toyota. We are an older couple and like the idea of being higher up. We don't want to be sleeping in a tent anymore when we go camping; hence, we would like an SUV to be able to pull a tent trailer/hard top trailer. We would like to hear what other people's opinion on this is.
