We have a delivery service and we need two vans that have removable seats in order to carry the amount of stuff/weight we have to deliver.  We are currently using 16-year-old Dodge Caravans but one just died and it’s too much to repair. (A bike is not going to work to haul 1000 lbs. - although I have considered it :) )

Is there a more gas efficient vehicle that anyone knows of that can be had for less than 10k – hopefully a lot less?  The caravan sizes and style works, but the gas is killing us.

I’ve located a few Caravans (‘04’s to ‘08’s) for 6k to 8k and <100k miles, but the money we’ve spent on repairs and gas over the last 5 years is not convincing me to get another one – although a newer version may be less problematic?

The Ford Transit Connect is kind of intriguing – have not seen one in person, so I don’t know if it will be the right size – anyone have experience with them?  Also the cheapest one found so far is $11k and 3 hrs away.

I am quite the opposite of a car nut, so any advice from people in the know would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
