My situation is that I accepted a job as a contractor on a federal contract that isn't funded yet. The employer didn't tell me it wasn't funded, I found out on my own. The employer has been saying "you'll get a start date soon" for the past 3 months and I even went to the agency to get my fingerprints done.

The problem is that I was also laid off 3 months ago. I have been interviewing a ton and gotten a ton of rejections so I'm feeling down and out.

Anyways my understanding is that there was a continuing resolution until December the 11. And then they have until Dec 18 to come up with an agreement. Does the new budget that was passed before go into effect? And does that mean I could be waiting another couple of months until the appropriations are written into law?

The base year was June 2015 to June 2016 and that's obviously half over. If they get the funds will they change the start of the base year?

Here is the website for information about contracts
https://www.fiscal.treasury.gov/fsfaq/fs_doing_business.htm

I have a contract number, does anyone know how I can use this website to find out if the contract is funded or not?
