Title: Best advice for monetizing a new blog
Post by: Adwood728 on March 19, 2020, 03:53:06 PM
Started a blog recently regarding current interests and lifestyle choices. Curious if anyone has advice on how to monetize a blog? My brother has been able to live off his earnings on YouTube and I’m hoping I might be able to do the same with a daily blog. Any advice is appreciated!

It's gotten harder to monetize blogs as more people turn to video. Any interest in youtube for yourself?

My advice is to get a zillion subscribers by providing great content for free. Then worry about monetization.

Blogs are tough... since the travel downturn I'm now lucky if I make 50 cents a day on my blog.

Advertising requires a large amount of traffic to make any money, i.e. tens or hundreds of thousands of visitors every month. Affiliate marketing can be very lucrative if you can find products or services that serve your audience. It still requires a substantial amount of traffic.

Grow your audience before you start worrying about monetization. The time you spend trying to make $2.00 a month from ads or affiliate links is time you could be creating more content or improving the content you already have to try and grow your audience.
