Anything better than MintSim?
« on: January 24, 2018, 08:47:03 AM »
Hi guys, I am looking for a cheap cell phone plan with at least 5GB and unlimited calls. I need two lines for me and my husband. What would you recommend? Territorially East-Midwest, new immigrants without credit score. Thank you!

My wife and I have used MintSIM for the past year. No complaints and about to renew for another, we do live and spend most of our time in a metro area with good T-Mobile coverage though.

I have MintSim as well.  I believe mine is 5gb for $20.  I was able to keep my existing phone.

I've had it for almost a year now.

I pre-paid the full year to get the cheapest price, so it was a bit of a risk.

As long as you are in a place with a good t-mobile network, go for it.  Super cheap, super simple.

I have been using the service about 3 months, and it has been effective so far. I live in a major city. I started with the 2GB option, but for $5 more/mo to upgrade to 5GB I went for that which is pretty much unlimited for me.

Check their service map too to make sure you should theoretically get service. I think they have a 30-day trial period as well? Not 100% sure on that.

Anything better than MintSim?

Depends. Do you actually need "unlimited" talk and text and 10GB of mobile data between the two of you, or do you just think you use a lot and waste a lot of time and mobile data for dopamine fixes and boredom alleviation? What sort of priorities do you have beyond just the cheapest, belt-busting-est, all-you-can-eat mobile plan you can get your hands on?

Potentially, there's cheaper and superior options if you actually shop for and pay for what you need as opposed to simply letting bulk volume for the money dictate what you want.

Maybe give the guide linked in the sigline a read.
