Title: Anyone still bid on hotels on Priceline?
Post by: EconDiva on September 13, 2018, 04:34:16 PM
I used to get amazing deals using them but the past 3 years or so I haven't even bothered with it as from what I could remember I stopped being able to get decent bids accepted.

Was considering trying for a place in Chicago this weekend.

Does anyone still use Priceline for the purposes of bidding on hotel stays?

I'm not sure they even offer "Name your own price" any more. I routinely book Priceline express deals which is a lot like hotwire - don't know the exact hotel, but a pretty good rate. Weekend rates in downtown Chicago are usually pretty good.

NYOP is still there at the bottom of their home page. It doesn't get a lot of love anymore because the "deals" are more profitable.

Haven't used it in a while; using credit card points is even cheaper than bidding.
