In Search of New Hotel Credit Card
« on: April 14, 2019, 08:24:26 AM »
Hi Everyone,

With Marriott's recent acquisition of Starwood they've capitalized on the lack of options left in the market by diluting point values and have made the free night that comes with the branded credit card nearly worthless.  So, I'm on the verge of cancelling the card and looking for a new hotel branded card.  Is there any that you can recommend, and why?  If there is a points based card that is not specifically hotel branded, but can be used toward hotel stays, I would be interested in that too.

Thank you all!

If you can hit the spend of $5,000 in 3 months, the Barclay Arrival+ is pretty good: https://cards.barclaycardus.com/banking/cards/barclaycard-arrival-plus-world-elite-mastercard/?referrerid=AMOPSGGLBR&ef_id=Cj0KCQjwtMvlBRDmARIsAEoQ8zS8vFax3R4WnfqfrntwQrdMkAO8QhHOZXUTBTlvTGKS2bwBlQOxz0EaAi_dEALw_wcB:G:s&s_kwcid=AL!5187!3!330538502807!b!!g!!arrival%20mastercard

You'll have 80,000 points after completing the spend, which gets you $800 toward any travel expenses.
