ACA Exchange as not contacted insurance co yet!
« on: December 19, 2017, 06:09:46 PM »
Hi all,

I went in to the exchange and signed up (on Nov 1st) for a new policy and got a bronze plan with a nice subsidy. Now my old plan was under my Wife's name and I terminated that coverage on the exchange effective end of Jan.

Now my insurance co has auto enrolled us for the OLD plan with no subsidy and tells me they will deduct the full $1100 thankyou very much.

So I call insurance co and they tell me they have had not received any details of the new plan from the exchange.

I then call the exchange and they tell me that everything is in order and that the system is "probably backed up".. Thats nice.

OK, so lets say they don't send the info/subsidy to the insurance company before Jan 1st what happens then?

Clearly I don't want to go without HC so of course I will pay the full $1100.

Would the government then refund me their portion?

Anyone have any actual experience of a late Jan 1st government payment?

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
