Las time we caned tomatoes was 2 years ago and we still have some left to get us through the winter!

Thanks to this thread I decided to try my hand a making yogurt again.  The first time was a spectacular failure.  This time...success!!

I think it's one of those things I've consistently fluked (unlike pizza, for example), but yes, the cooler + sleeping bag setup, with everything pre-warmed, has so far been fail-proof for me. And I think we can all agree a big old mason jar of yogurt is a handy thing to have in the fridge - can sub it for sour cream, mayo, and buttermilk - works as well sweet and savory - apparently great for marinating meat... and even if it's a bit ripe for eating, you can use it for beauty products. Very mustachian!
