Never to early...
« on: October 28, 2015, 07:15:01 AM »
To camp out for Black Friday?!?  WTF?  But it's to bring 'awareness to the homeless'?  So camping out in order to score a TV that he probably doesn't need so he can get donations to help the homeless?  Am I missing something?

It sounds like a way to get what they want (prime location in order to get deals) while also doing a little good. As they already were going to camp out, why not let them do a little good at the same time.

Have a friend that will stand in crazy lines to buy new gaming systems when they first come out, then flip them on ebay to the highest bidder. He's done pretty well, usually paying for his own system in the process.  Not for me though!

Honestly, yes.

"Sutton, who hosts a radio show for The Game in Orlando, said he's accepting donations, gifts, toys and money, which will be given to the Love Pantry."

He's doing it for charity and publicity.

I waited all night to buy the Wii a few weeks after it came out, back when it was still priced high on ebay. There were like 20 units available and I was first in line. My mom called me about an hour before Target opened to ask how many people where there, there were maybe 14 and she asked if she should come to wait and buy one for resale. Stupid me said no, but had she done so we could have made maybe $200 for about an hour's worth of time.

I think he should take the money he plans on buying the TV with and donate that instead of camping out, but it's his time and money.
