Chase raises fees on stupidity
« on: August 29, 2016, 10:17:09 AM »
Received a piece of mail from Chase for each credit card I have. They are now charging higher fees/rates on late fees and cash advances. Just some more wasted paper because I won't ever need to pay one of those.

I once took a $10,000 cash advance on a Chase credit card with a 1% fee and used it to open a Chase savings account that paid out $300 if you held $10,000 or more for at least six months. So I earned $200 for doing nothing but swapping money from one account to another, at the same bank, for six months. That was fun :)

Smart! I've gotten offers for no interest, but fee is always 3% or higher

Yeah, that was the best cash advance offer I've ever gotten. I felt compelled to find some way to use it. But 3% is typical and harder to profit on.
