I heard about this a long time ago. Never had it myself. After the beans are collected, farmers wash them and sun-dry them, then the skin breaks off pretty easily, after which point they go through the rest of the process.
I think sake, flour, and this are all in my "what a thing to witness the first batch" list. Marula fruit liquor? Easy enough to grasp. Mead? Hey, this honey went bad. Sure, but it's fun! Cat poop coffee? Gosh, Steve, I just don't know about that one...
