According to the author, "if you really put your mind to it, there's a lot you can achieve with your finances in a few weeks".

Agreed. But her 30 changes included this:

Buying a piece of art has been on the wish list for a while.

I apply for a no-interest loan for buying art. Now for some gallery-hopping.

On Day 23 she decides to:

Quote
Prepare for the unexpected

I thought, 'Finally! Emergency fund. A little late but she got there in the end.'

But no.

I turn my intention to be better prepared for the unexpected into action and organise income protection and life insurance cover via my super fund.

I've now strengthened my eyes considerably by rolling them at almost every line in that piece.

Come on, there are tons of useful things in there.

Day 7 - save money by only going out to eat 3 times in a single weekend.

Day 18 - spend nothing for 24 hours - I mean except for that $2 cider, that didn't count.

Other wisdom like keeping a $23/month DVD subscription for years (day 8) while also renting DVDs from the library that she returns late (day 14).

Some of the headline titles sounded good, but holy crap, most of the 'what she did' was crap.  Well, at least she was trying.

What publisher decided it was a good idea to pay her to for a book with this drivel in it?

I'd like to know where you can get a no interest loan.  I sure the hell wouldn't be using it to buy art.:D

Plenty of places with access to European funds. All the European car manufacturers here have no interest loans...
